I’ve got the chocolate version of these, they looked absolutely amazing when compared to the black version. They replaced some very similar Sketchers that I bought… probably seven years ago. They weren’t worn every day, but quite a bit nevertheless, I literally wore the sole down to the point there were holes. If these last half as long, I will be extremely happy, and Sketchers has gone up eons in quality since then. I’m really looking forward to how long these will last. Thus far, they have been great for every day walking and work shoes. Plus living right by the rocky moutains, I tend to go spur of the moment hiking/caching a lot, so the fact that they are decent hiking boots is quite nice. Definitely not a true replacement for real hiking boots, but good enough. br /br /One thing I should point out, is I normally wear a size 8.5 with shoes like Sketchers D’Lites, etc. I went down to a 7.5 with these, and the soles line up perfectly with my 8.5 Sketchers Premiums, so I think the sizing is a bit off. Besides that, they irritated my little toe on the right foot the first time I wore them, it was fine after the first day. Thats fairly common with me (the toe was broken a few years ago, its never been quite right since), so its hardly worth mentioning, and definitely won’t deduct a rating. Toe area is extremely roomy up and down. The little zippered compartment might be useful to put some money in while in shady places. It is a sealed pocket with no access to your foot, so things will stay there. I honestly can’t think of a use other than that. It does look pretty snazzy. br /br /I also can’t say much about the water resistance, I always douse my shoes in waterproofer the day I get them. It did absorb the waterproofer like crazy, so I assume they would do the same with water. Its just the type of material. So if you need water resistance, make sure to buy a can of spray.br /br /So just be careful about the sizing, maybe find them in a store and figure out your size before buying on here. Besides that, fantastic shoes.
