I used this on the headlights of my 2006 model year car and it work wonderfully. I was noticing the beginning stages of oxidation, some very mild haze on the plastic. After washing and clay baring the car I taped off the area and used this product. It restored the clarity and shine. Realistically I wouldn’t expect this stuff to make a ten year old and neglected car’s headlights look brand new. In fact, I tried just that and it didn’t work; even after sanding with 1,500 grit paper, using a rubbing compound, then this product. However, as a preventive maintenance or regular use item, I think it works superbly. It couldn’t be easier to use, just follow the directions.

This is the most aggressive product I would use on a clear coat. If you have to get any more aggressive you’ll risk burning through the clear coat. I bought a seven year old car from someone who lived in the country. The car was well taken care of with the exception of the exterior which had severe swirls and fading from being driven on unpaved country roads. br /br /The first thing I did was purchase a rotary buffer, a clay bar, and some “over the counter” swirl remover polish at my local auto parts store. I spent hours detailing the car, but I found that the OTC polish and pad that came with the buffer left a lot to be desired. The paint looked shiny, but the swirl marks were still really bad so I went back to the drawing board. br /br /After hours of research I purchased the M0116, M0216, and M8232. I also purchased Lake Country polishing pads for my rotary buffer. If you don’t have severe swirls start with the M0216 with a orange pad and save your time. That will take care of the majority of swirl marks and leave a nice shine that’s ready for a finishing polish like the M8232. The M0116 cuts into your clear coat, removes deep swirls, creates its own swirls, eliminates surface defects, and leaves a dull finish. This is however what its supposed to do! After you use the M0116 with a yellow pad move onto the M0216 with an orange pad, and finish with the M8232 with a black pad. br /br /Big thumbs up!

I have an Opel Astra that has just been punished by the German winters the last couple of years. It’s black but really looked gray. So the other day, I gave it a wash and decided to try out my new Meguiars stuff. WOW! It’s black now. That’s all I can say. br /br /There were surface scratches (not deep) on the hood, fenders, and doors – they’re gone now. I applied by hand basically as the sun was going down so it was difficult to really guage at the time how well it was working, but you can apply this product by hand with excellent results. Ensure you use some “passion” when applying by hand and really give it a good rub. I will have to do this step again with the claybar when it warms up around here, but it really does what it advertises. br /br /If you’ve got some minor swirls and light scratches with no DA polisher or rotary, you can rest assured this product will help you get rid of them when applied by hand. There are 2 more steps to Meguiar’s Deep Crystal system, but I haven’t tried them yet; I only have 1 and 2 and have only done step 1. I’ll be back in the spring to edit this review after I’ve done both. I’ll use Gold Class wax. br /br /But I’m confident this will give you the results you are looking for in removing those minor blemishes by hand, even for an enthusiast (not a pro) like me. This is probably my favorite product from Meguiar’s. It makes doing a quick touch up of the interior a pleasure. You simply spray it on the surface of where you need to clean and wipe. It does not leave residue on glass, and since it is not a shine product you do not have to worry about the little area you may have missed looking really dull next to the other areas on the door panel or dash. It also can be used on plastic etc… so you don’t have to worry about wiping off an residue that other procuts leave on your radio or gauges. It is a great product for anybody to use that just wants to get the dust and dirt off of their dash etc… Plus it smells really good
