Meguiar’s has been around since the 1930’s at least, Dad used Mirror Glaze on his Model A coupe. I’ve used Meguiar’s products and been pleased with all of them, this included. While not quite as deep a shine as Mirror Glaze, this product is a one step application and one step buffing. While very easy to apply and buff by hand, I used one of Dad’s old tricks – apply wax to one panel and let it dry. Shake some baby powder or cornstarch onto a buffer pad and buff it off. The cornstarch acts as a VERY fine polishing compound and left a dazzling shine. br /br /I get about 3 month’s worth of protection from one application. I particularly like how this product really brings out the sparkle in a metallic or metalflake paint.br /br /EWbr /br /

Meguiar’s products have been around since the 1930’s at least. My dad used Mirror Glaze in his body shop, I’ve used it on newer cars with decent paint and the results were what I expected – The paint looks wet when it’s dry. VERY deep shine. Top it off with a sealer, if yo don’t it starts to wear off in about 30 days or so.br /br /I’m kinda into the late 1940’s gas station garage look, and this is the perfect product even if it’s in a modern bottle. My first Mirror Glaze was in a glass bottle and I used it on a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air..br /br /EW

As a car detail specialist I’ve found that NXT wax 2.0 is a very reliable product. It is one of the two professional paint protectants that I use in my business. The other is Meguiar’s synthetic sealant. Although found in many common auto shops, NXT wax provides professional results that pathetic turtle wax cant match. NXT wax is very easy to apply and remove by hand if you give it about 20 minutes to dry. It has very nice gloss and looks best on red cars (doesn’t work too well with black cars b/c it smudges). It repels water very well and lasts quite a long time. A new coat is needed about every 3-4 months. br /br /examples of cars coated with NXT wax 2.0 can be found at [...]br /br / If you are a person who strives constantly to bring out your car’s beauty, retain its value, and turn heads, you should give up half a day and try this… Wash, Clay Bar, most abrasive polish, medium abrasive polish, very fine polish, synthetic sealant, and lastly NXT wax. Polishing is basically liquid sandpaper and should be applied with a variable speed polisher. But don’t even try using one if you don’t have someone to teach you. You can take off your paint too easily and it would be risky.

I’ve used so many different car washes over the years I’ve lost count. In the late 90s and through 2001 I was using various high-end washes that only professional detailers usually know about. Lately I’ve been using P21S shampoo for my washes but I switched to Meguiar’s NXT car wash this year.br /br /Bottom line, everything that a professional detailer wants in a car wash/shampoo is in this wash! It goes on VERY smooth, REALLY cuts through dirt/grime and helps lift particles off the paint, it’s reasonably gentle, it suds VERY well, it is reasonably priced, and it smells good.br /br /Unless someone develops an even better car wash in the future, this is the car wash I’ll be sticking with for LIFE.
