Meguiar’s has been around since the 1930’s at least, Dad used Mirror Glaze on his Model A coupe. I’ve used Meguiar’s products and been pleased with all of them, this included. While not quite as deep a shine as Mirror Glaze, this product is a one step application and one step buffing. While very easy to apply and buff by hand, I used one of Dad’s old tricks – apply wax to one panel and let it dry. Shake some baby powder or cornstarch onto a buffer pad and buff it off. The cornstarch acts as a VERY fine polishing compound and left a dazzling shine. br /br /I get about 3 month’s worth of protection from one application. I particularly like how this product really brings out the sparkle in a metallic or metalflake paint.br /br /EWbr /br /

I have an Opel Astra that has just been punished by the German winters the last couple of years. It’s black but really looked gray. So the other day, I gave it a wash and decided to try out my new Meguiars stuff. WOW! It’s black now. That’s all I can say. br /br /There were surface scratches (not deep) on the hood, fenders, and doors – they’re gone now. I applied by hand basically as the sun was going down so it was difficult to really guage at the time how well it was working, but you can apply this product by hand with excellent results. Ensure you use some “passion” when applying by hand and really give it a good rub. I will have to do this step again with the claybar when it warms up around here, but it really does what it advertises. br /br /If you’ve got some minor swirls and light scratches with no DA polisher or rotary, you can rest assured this product will help you get rid of them when applied by hand. There are 2 more steps to Meguiar’s Deep Crystal system, but I haven’t tried them yet; I only have 1 and 2 and have only done step 1. I’ll be back in the spring to edit this review after I’ve done both. I’ll use Gold Class wax. br /br /But I’m confident this will give you the results you are looking for in removing those minor blemishes by hand, even for an enthusiast (not a pro) like me.
