Hex 3 Person Family Camping Screen House Tent CustomerReview
If you can find this tent, it’s a nice one. It’s about what you need for 2 people that will be camping in one spot for a few days. It’s quite heavy so this one’s not for backpacking. There’s lots of room inside to stand up in and if you just put up the outside screen/rainfly portion, quite a few people can sleep inside. It’s a little complicated to get the first pole up but after you figure out what you’re doing, it goes right up. I found that I needed one other person to hold the other side of one of the poles and then I was able to get the tent set up. I’m small so maybe a bigger person can put it up by themself. With the inside tent added, you have a room inside to sleep in that’s bug free and a covered inside room for all, and I mean all, of your stuff to go that’s out of the weather. This is a large tent for they say 3 but really 2 people. It’s heavy and would do well for things like driving to your campsite and setting up near your car. Having to carry this thing for any distance would be rough.

If you looking for a classic design 9′ * 12′ cabin tent then Peaktop Outdoor should be top of your choice beside Trek and Coleman. The tent sleeps 6 comfortably. The bad reviews should apply for cabin tent as general. Peaktop is a big player for event canopy rather than camping tent but they were the last manufacture who produce 3 frame cabin tent. Here is some study I found for all cabin tent:br /br /Pro: The whole tent is stand-able space so great for family who camp with grandparents and mother who might need to carry baby in middle of night.br /br /Con: Could not stand for windy weather like dome tent does.br /br /The fabric of this Peaktop tent seems to be thin but strong enough to block rain, UV and the pack down size is is way smaller than any other 9′ * 12′ tent. Save on trunk space! The Peaktop designed to put the storm flaps outside the window screen since it works way better to block rain. The screen could be zip open from inside in order to close the flaps without going outside.br /br /The steel frame really only take 2 people to assembly like all other cabin tent and the setup procedure difference between dome tent (glassfiber frame) is that you must stake down bases for cabin tent first. Cabin tent would be highly recommend for family of 6 (w/ seniors children) camping in mild wind summer months. The 9′ * 12′ size is the smallest size that cabin tent ever made and its easy to find tarp in that size. I always put tarp underneath all my tents to extend the life of use.
